Pia Hardelid

Pia Hardelid is a Professor of Epidemiology at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, where she leads a research programme focusing on data science applied to child public health. She also leads several large studies using linked, administrative data, including the PICNIC study and the Kids’ Environment and Health Cohort. She is co-director of the National Institute of Health Research Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre Applied Child Health Informatics Theme, and the Health Data Research UK Social and Environmental Determinants of Health Driver Programme. At her Institute, she also leads the Environmental Child Health Research Group, where our research programme focuses on how the local environment in and around children’s schools and homes impact their health and education outcomes.
