Labour Party Conference: How can evidence-based programmes deliver a better future for every child?

29th September 2025 29/09/2025 12:30-13:30

At this year’s Labour Party Conference, the Education Policy Institute is partnering with Triple P to hold a public panel on: How can evidence-based programmes deliver a better future for every child?

Organised jointly with Triple P and EPI, the event will explore how Best Start Family Hubs provide an opportunity to deliver evidence-based parenting programmes at scale including working with hard-to-reach families to reach school readiness targets and transform children’s lives.

The government’s Best Start in Life strategy sets out a bold ambition for how the government will improve child development and ensure that all children have the chance to achieve and thrive. By building on the proven legacy of Sure Start and expanding access to trusted, evidence-based parenting and early years support, these Hubs could help parents feel more confident and equipped to give their children the very best start in life.

The event will explore the key role evidence-parenting programmes can play in delivering support at scale and meeting the goals of the Best Start in Life Strategy to reach thousands of parents across the country with practical support and help. We will discuss how the government and local authorities can ensure Best Start Family Hubs are equipped to support hard-to-reach groups and deliver evidence-based programmes that support children to reach the school readiness targets. Alongside this, we will explore the role evidence-based digital parenting programmes can provide in meeting demand for flexible and on-demand support that can be scaled effectively across the country.

Speakers will be updated in due course.

** Note: This event will take place in the conference secure zone. To access the secure zone you will need to obtain a pass directly from the Labour Party.**
