The Education Policy Institute (EPI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoff Barton CBE to its Board of Trustees.
Geoff Barton brings over three decades of experience in education. Most recently, he served as General Secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL). He currently chairs the Commission on the Future of Oracy Education.
Professor Sir Chris Husbands, Chair of EPI’s Board of Trustees, welcomed the appointment:
“I am delighted to welcome Geoff to the EPI Trustee Board as it moves into its second decade. Geoff is one of the most thoughtful and widely respected figures in education. His experience as a headteacher, leader of a trade union representing school and college leaders as well as an advocate of excellence for all children and young people will be an enormous asset for EPI.”
Commenting on his new role, Geoff Barton said:
“I’m delighted to be joining the Education Policy Institute as a trustee. I’ve been a huge admirer of their work for many years, and hope that I can bring some helpful insights and support to the next phase of their evolution from my background working with so many school and college leaders.”
