Jo Blanden is a Reader in Economics at the University of Surrey. Her research specialises in educational inequality, social mobility and early years. Jo’s recent research has used econometric approaches and administrative data to explore aspects of the free entitlement to nursery education in England. She is currently working on a project to discover the impact of school closures in the pandemic on family wellbeing (including children’s mental health).
