Update from the Education Policy Institute | Coronavirus

The outbreak of Covid-19 is an uncertain time for everyone. While developments are moving fast and it is difficult to predict what may lie ahead, it is certain that those working in education are likely to face monumental challenges in the following weeks and months.

Here at EPI, we would like to update you on how developments will affect our work during these unprecedented times.

For the time being, we will continue with our programme of leading public policy research, spanning early years education through to further and higher education and beyond. Unless otherwise stated, all research projects shall continue, and we will continue to provide commentary and evidence-based analysis, in order to inform policy-making.

In addition to this, wherever possible, our researchers will also consider the impact of the coronavirus on the education system and pupil learning outcomes, as we continue to see further disruption.

A strong focus of the Education Policy Institute has always been to examine the impact of policy on the outcomes of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people in society. We will continue with this focus as we seek to gauge the impact of developments over the next few months.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any queries.
