This second selective schools report, published in December 2016, examines what the effects would be of putting new grammar schools in different parts of the country, and the impact of introducing quotas for free school meal (FSM) pupils in grammar schools.

Among its key findings, the report finds that based on a series of conditions set out in the government’s consultation document ‘Schools that Work for Everyone‘, just six areas in England would benefit from the introduction of new grammar schools and be met with support from parents.
