Labour Party Conference 2018: 3 Education Ministers Walk Into A Bar

24th September 2018 20/09/2018 16:00-17:15

For this year’s Labour Party Conference, the Education Policy Institute and Tes are collaborating on an open fringe event designed to draw on the historic and personal expertise of a panel of former Education Ministers.

The non-partisan nature of the panel lends itself to personal reflection, with Ministerial anecdote shaping a conversation around areas of shared governmental experience and insight. Ann Mroz, as Chair, will take us on a guided tour through the big and the perennial issues in education. To complete the setting, we will open a ‘bar’ after the talk, for attendees to network and discuss the issues covered.

The event will take the following format: 5 minutes welcome and introductions, 45-minute guided discussion with the panel, 30 minutes of ‘The Bar’.

Members of the panel at this event include Lord Baker of Dorking (Education Minister, 1986-89)Lord Knight of Weymouth (Education Minister, 2006-09) and the Rt Hon. David Laws (Education Minister, 2012-15). The panel will be chaired by Ann Mroz (Tes).

This event will be held in the Secure Zone. It is an open fringe event but a conference pass will be required to access the venue.
