Conservative Party Conference: Towards recovery – the role of lifelong learning in addressing the skills gap

4th October 2021 04/10/2021 10:00

At this year’s Conservative Party Conference, the Education Policy Institute (EPI) has partnered with Capita to co-host an open fringe panel discussion: Towards recovery: the role of lifelong learning in addressing the skills gap.

The Covid-19 pandemic has further highlighted the crucial skills gaps across the UK. With continued economic uncertainty, it is more important than ever that the UK has a skills strategy which works for all cities and regions and offers opportunities for lifelong learning, retraining and upskilling. As the government develops their ‘levelling up’ plans, helping people onto and up the skills ladder can give England’s most deprived areas a significant employment boost.

** Note: This event will take place in the conference secure zone. To access the secure zone you will need to obtain a pass directly from the Conservative Party.**
